AL6XN Plate Composition

AL6XN Plates’ precisely engineered chemical composition accounts for their remarkable strength and resistance to corrosion. They provide exceptional protection against chloride induced corrosion when they contain at least 24% nickel and their resistance to oxidation, and scaling is increased when they contain 20–22% chromium. The inclusion of 6–7% Molybdenum strongly improves their resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and 0.18–0.25% Nitrogen also strengthens and enhances localized corrosion resistance. Iron is the base metal, which contains all the alloying elements whereas small contents such as manganese, silicon, carbon, and copper improve formability and mechanical properties. When combined together, these components offer AL6XN Plates exceptional dependability in harsh conditions like saltwater, acidic media, and industrial settings with high chloride levels.
